I had my cable and Internet disconnected last week. The thought being that I need to spend time preparing for the trip, reading guidebooks, studying for the GRE, studying Spanish verb conjugations, etc., rather than watching two hours of Family Guy reruns every night. I'm doing ok so far. I miss the Internet more than the TV. For a few nights I had a wireless signal form about 6:00 to 9:00. I'm not sure which of my neighbors' wireless signals I was borrowing, but for some reason it is now password protected. It kind of feels like that episode of Southpark where the Internet went out.
A little more than a month until take-off.

Go ahead and have your electricity and water turned off as well to get acclimated.
